Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. The majority of upgrade components installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel.
